Aug 7 - Prayer Life of Jesus 12

Then Jesus led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up His hands He blessed them. 51 And while He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven. ~Luke 24:50-51

It is not surprising that the last prayer of Jesus recorded in Luke is a prayer of blessing.

A blessing must be spoken. You can’t think a blessing... you have to speak a blessing. To bless someone is to  speak out in prayer God’s best for them, which is what Jesus did for His disciples.

I believe its what He also does for us!

Wouldn't it be amazing to have the Lord of the universe speak out a blessing for you?
What do you think He would say?
What would Jesus think is God’s best for your life right now?

As Jesus’ prayers are a model for our own,
how often do you bless others in prayer?

King David gave one of my favorite blessings in Psalm 20.
Try using this psalm as a prayer of blessing for someone else:

1 The Lord answer you in the day of trouble!
The name of God protect you!
2 May God send you help, and give you support!
3 May God remember all your offerings,
and regard with favor your sacrifices.
4 May God grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your
5 May we shout for joy over your victory,
and in the name of our God set up our banners.
May the Lord fulfill all your petitions.

Can you imagine Jesus praying this Psalm 20 blessing for you?
Since Jesus often used the Psalms in prayer, there is a good chance He does!

Can you commit yourself to use this Psalm 20 blessing for others?

Its a very Jesus Way to pray!
