Day 10 - Philippians 2:14-15

Do all things without murmuring and arguing, so that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine like stars in the world.                                                                         ~Philippians 2:14-15

Paul refers to the generation we live in as perverse, which comes from the word perverted. Good word!

The Oxford Dictionary defines to pervert as (1) to distort or corrupt the original course, meaning, or state of (something) (2) to lead away from what is considered natural or acceptable.
Yep. Sounds like the culture we live in.

Jesus put it like this: The world has hated (my disciples) because they do not belong to the world, just as I do not belong to the world.
I am not asking you to take them out of the world, but I ask you to protect them from the evil one.
                                                      ~John 17:14-15

Paul knew that he lived in a perverted world, fallen from God's ways. So do we. But its the world we are called to live in.

Our goal is to be in the world but not of the world. To be described with words like blameless, innocent, pure, without blemish. Are those words people who know you best would use to describe you?

Is it possible to be  blameless, innocent, pure, and without blemish? In our world? Today?
By the power and leading of the Spirit of God… yes!
In fact, its expected of us by our Lord.
