12. Text of “Why Orphan’s Tree"

So… why Orphan’s Tree?

As Christians, we’ve been commanded  to go into all the world.
But its a big world, so where should we go?

One biblical direction is to “take care of orphans who are suffering” (James 1:27)
When most people hear orphan they think infant,
but the most challenging time in the life of an orphan
may be later adolescence, when they leave the orphanage.

They go out into the world alone, without life skills,
without the benefits of family and faith.

But there is a fellowship of Russian and American Christians
who are working together,  offering older orphans training in basic life skills,
and welcoming them through faith into the Family of God.

That fellowship is called Orphan’s Tree.
